Getting started

Onboarding process

The onboarding of an issuer takes place in two phases: first in the test and then in the production environment.

The following steps are required in each environment:

  1. The issuer provides a client certificate for authentication and communication with the API.

Separate certificates are required for the test and production environment.

  2. The issuer provides SIX Client Delivery with the public key of the client certificate.
  3. SIX Client Delivery completes the setup of the debit card issuer within the debiX admin portal, including the entry of the issuer certificate's DN.
  4. On the test system, SIX Client Delivery provisions a set of test data for funding debit cards provided by the issuer.
  5. The issuer calls the /healthcheck endpoint with all verbs to check the access to the API across all layers and to verify the client authentication.
  6. If the issuer wishes to use the 3DS solution provided by SIX, the SIX Client Delivery must be contacted.

Getting involved

The following steps are taken to release a new version

  1. The issuer can submit requirements or wishes to SIX.
  2. After the analysis of the requirements, SIX communicates the release planning.
  3. The issuer receives the specification of the new version for review and gives feedback to SIX.
  4. The reviewed specification is implemented by SIX (server side) and the issuer (client side).
  5. The new version is published on the SIX test system.
  6. The issuer can test their client implementation against the SIX test system.
  7. Bug fixes are applied and patch versions are published on the SIX test system.
  8. The new version is published on the SIX production system.
  9. The issuer can switch their production client implementation to the new version.
